WHO WE SERVE
We are honored to serve clients across a number of states, many of which are in our hometown of Dayton, Ohio.
No two clients are the same - each with a unique set of circumstances and challenges. They come to us with experience in various industries and walks of life.
When clients initially engage us, they are often experiencing life changes such as:
Preparing for retirement
Monetizing their business
Saving toward education for children or grandchildren
Inheriting family assets
Caring for aging parents
Going through a family transtition such as birth, marriage, or divorce
We especially enjoy working with multiple generations of families. In fact, we make it a practice to extend financial planning services and a client’s pricing to their linear family - children, grandchildren, or parents.
Regardless of circumstance, our clients are those seeking sound, objective advice from a team that will serve as a steward of their financial planning and investment portfolios.
At Birchcreek we strongly believe your investment portfolio should be the by-product of a comprehensive financial plan. We insist on going through a well defined process to ensure your portfolio aligns with your goals and objectives.
We draw on expertise and experience to help you establish a road map through prudent arrangement of assets, liabilities, income, and expenses, and a deep understanding of your tolerance for risk.
Initially we need to spend some time getting to know you, your family structure, your life's priorities, your feelings toward risk, and what you see as the purpose for your savings and investments. Through this process we inventory your financial assets and liabilities and spend time understanding how you generate income and spend. During this discovery phase, many other questions arise.
- How have you arranged your finances to minimize the burden of taxes?
- How would your family cover loss of income or debt payment in the event of your death?
- What resources have been allocated to cover skilled nursing care in the event you lose the ability to physically manage your own affairs?
- How have you have prepared for the management of your assets in the
event you are incapacitated, or the distribution of them when
you pass away?
ESTABLISH A FRAMEWORK
Having defined goals and objectives for your money enables us to determine the path needed to get there from here. Establishing a framework empowers you to give each dollar a job, and ensure you are saving or spending based on the order of importance - meaning each additional dollar is allocated toward the next best use.
Once the framework is in place, we provide a written financial plan with actionable recommendations to see it through. Recommendations include steps to most effectively manage your net worth, mitigate the risk of running out of money in retirement, and specific investment solutions.
STAYING THE COURSE
Financial planning is a moving target and markets are always changing. You will experience regular, thoughtful reviews of the progress toward your goals and updates when the inevitable changes in life happen. Open communication is key. We are happy to accommodate meetings in person, by phone, video, or screen sharing to accommodate your busy life while ensuring regular monitoring.
